My Official Introductory Post
Greetings, fellow Digital Media Artists! This is Caitlynn Lowe here, making my introductory post at my new blog for Intro to DMA.As far as my interests go, I don’t suppose there’s too much. I like cartoons. A lot. Probably more than a girl my age should. Haha...Also, I can get pretty caught up in anime, too. The nice thing about anime is that I can still watch pretty animated pictures but actually get caught up in the storyline, as well, which is always a plus.
Speaking of anime, here's a picture from a really great movie made by Studio Ghibli called, "Howl's Moving Castle":
Other interests of mine include sheep and swords. Yes, you read that right. I like sheep. I think it all goes back to the whole “Good Shepherd” idea, though I must admit it’s gotten a little out of control. I also like swords. I actually have a few swords (at home, of course!) but most are just cheap things from eBay that I got as gifts, except for one that I got at an Antique Mall near my home recently. It doesn’t look like it’s been well cared for over the years, but that’s alright; it gives it character.
In fact, I happen to have a picture of the above mentioned sword on my computer:
I also like to sew and cook. I don’t have too much experience with either, but I’m improving in both areas if I dare say so myself. As I type this, I’m looking at the two teddy bears sitting on my bed that I sewed myself. And over the summer, I was making meals for my family twice a week. That was fun. Apparently, I must have been doing something right, because they’ve all told me that they miss my cooking now that I’m at college! Haha! That’s great.
And, of course, here is a picture of my teddy bears!
I also do some sketching and writing in my spare time. I’m not very good at either, but I can definitely see improvement in my writing. In fact, I’ll even be nice and post a link to my writing profile on a Christian Writers’ Website I’m a part of: http://www.faithwriters.com/member-profile.php?id=18127 Just be sure to finish all your homework and studying before you get too caught up in it, though. ;-)
Expect to see two very different sides of my personality over this next semester. When you see me in person, I’ll probably barely speak a word. I’m pretty shy -- actually, make that VERY shy -- around people I don’t know very well. But over the computer, my *true* self comes out more, and I can babble for quite some time. Actually, my first thought when we were told to aim for making our entries between 300 and 500 words was, “Only 500?!” But I’ll try to make sure that I don’t let myself get too off topic in my posts, and hopefully they’ll fit within that range as a result.
Anyway, as far as an introductory post goes, I think this is pretty decent. If there’s anything else you want to know about me, just ask! I’ll probably write more later tonight or tomorrow (only, it will be an actual post, not just a “hello” like this time). So...until then!
